Unlike most mathematical programs, GeoGebra requires less to no programming knowledge or experience. The newest version provides a simple yet robust tool that covers all mathematical fields. GeoGebra started in 2011 as a project that supports all-level education with basic functions like calculations and graphing. The devs don’t care, because they want you to use the web app.It is a great tool for students who are interested in STEM fields or teachers who want to bring more to the classroom experience. There are many other UI problems, but why bother listing them. Oh, and if you use the online save, and want to keep a local copy too, their solution is to download the file from them, instead of saving locally from the app. *Then* it will offer to save locally, using a different dialogue than the “Download As” did. If you then try to close the app (even after using the “Download As” option), you’ll get an ‘unsaved data’ warning, which offers to save… that is, save online, which will fail because you didn’t sign in, but the error will say ‘check your internet connection’. ![]() I guess nobody changes their mind, because once you say you’re not signing in, that's it. But then if you change you mind and decide to sign in, the sign in button or menu option does… nothing. Instead, you have to choose “Download As”. No attempt to save the file locally, no feedback, just… nothing. You can choose to continue without signing in, and it then does… nothing. If you attempt to save a file, it wants you to sign in to the website. ![]() This is a web app masquerading as a desktop app.
